Jan. 24, 2019: Belfast, ME:
Global yacht design and marine engineering firm Stephens Waring Yacht Design announced that its luxury daysailer Anna has been nominated as a finalist in the Spirit of Tradition category, in the Classic Boat Awards 2019.
Handcrafted by Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding in Thomaston, ME, Anna was shortlisted with 8 other finalists, after a rigorous selection process that sought to include all the custom boats built globally in 2018. Finalists were peer-reviewed by a team lead by Rob Peake, editor of London, England-based Classic Boat magazine.
“Congratulations on your nomination for the awards,” said Jack Shannon, Head of Sales of Training and Development at Classic Boat, “I know it was a hard choice to put together the shortlist, so you’ve clearly got something very special.”
The other boats selected include significant new builds from the world’s most distinguished modern-classic designers, including the 184 foot Aquarius, drawn by Dykstra Naval Architects, the 41-foot Sleipner, designed by Olof Hildebrand and the 67-foot Sultana drawn by Hoek Design.
“We’re tremendously honored to be selected as finalists by Classic Boat, among such distinguished design houses worldwide,” said Robert Stephens, principle at Stephens Waring Yacht Design, and lead designer on the vessel. “Anna was a truly special project, and we’re delighted to have her success recognized.”
The final winner will be selected via an online poll of the global yacht community. Voting takes place at the Classic Boat website and begins effective immediately and closes on on March 10, 2019.
Voting is free. But Classic Boat confirms that voters can only vote once and each voter is required to identify themselves with a name, valid email and country of residence. Optional other information is collected, but not mandatory.
