76′ Spirit of Tradition Racer

A Thoroughbred Spirit of Tradition Racer – Reimagined and Ready

This 76-foot yacht, formerly known as Goshawk, is a striking embodiment of Stephens Waring’s signature approach—where heritage lines meet forward-thinking performance. Svelte, elegant, and crafted in a lightweight composite of wood, foam, and carbon, she delivers refined performance in a build that’s both cost-effective and technologically advanced.

Under sail, she’s a revelation: powerful, exquisitely balanced, and a joy to handle. Thanks to her light displacement and easily-driven hull, she carries a modest sail plan that’s exceptionally manageable. Her long counter and low wetted surface make her ghost through light air, while her clean lines and optimized run unleash double-digit speeds under spinnaker when the breeze fills in. Her competitive pedigree includes a 2nd in class in the 2006 Newport–Bermuda Race—a testament to her race-winning potential.

In 2020, this thoroughbred was taken to the next level. A comprehensive performance refit—executed with the full involvement of the original design team—transformed her into a state-of-the-art Spirit of Tradition racing machine.
