Feb 8, 2018, Marblehead, Mass: C.W. Hood Yachts announced today that it is offering a distinctive new daysailer: The Hood 24. And that Azulita, the prototype for this new class of one-design sailboats, will be on display at the 2018 New England Boat Show, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center from February 10-18.
The new Hood 24 is stunningly classic in appearance, but up-to-date in design and construction. Features include:
- Large, comfortable self-bailing cockpit that seats 8.
- Zero-emission electric drive option available for delicate environments.
- Modern, efficient sails and rig.
The Hood 24 is the latest offering from the distinguished yacht builder C. W. Hood Yachts of Marblehead, Massachusetts and was designed by award-winning Stephens Waring Yacht Design of Belfast, Maine.
“This boat just takes your breath away. And as beautiful as she looks, she is even more beautiful to sail. She will win hearts — and races,” said Chris Hood, founder of C. W. Hood Yachts. “We picked the firm of Stephens-Waring to bring their world-class luxury design sensibility to the small-boat category. The durability, easy handling and graceful simplicity of this boat make her a unique daysailer and the perfect companion to our successful sister ship the Hood 32.”
“The Hood 24 will be built in our yard in Marblehead along with our Hood 32,” confirmed Hood. “And at this price, I don’t see a boat like her on the market.”
Sail away price: Starting at $89,000.
